James Joseph Brown also named “The Godfather of Soul” was an American singer and songwriter. He was also called « the hardest-working man in show business ». James Brown’s performances were famous for their intensity and length. His own stated goal was to « give people more than what they came for, make them tired, because that’s what they came for. ». « Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine » is a funk song recorded by James Brown in 1970 and released as a two-part single on King Records. The song’s freeform lyrics consist mostly of Brown’s exhortations to « Get up / stay on the scene / like a sex machine » . In 2004, « Sex Machine » was ranked number 326 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.
