On April 5, 1994, Kurt Cobain, then aged 27 years, gave himself the death leaving behind a musical legacy impressive. Under cover of darkness is the first single of the Strokes’ new album : Angles. After five years of silent, they are finally back !

Angles is probably the best album of the New Yorkers since This is it. However, the record has been a little bit hard : Julian Casablancas, the singer, choose to remove himself from the rest of the Strokes during the recording process. He actually recorded his vocals remotely in another studios and sent them to the band via email.
Casablancas’ distance was a wish to force the other members to take control of the band’s creative process. In an interview Casablancas said: “When I’m there, people might wait for me to say something. I think it took me being a little mute to force the initiative“. Nick Valensi, guitarist, found the whole experience deeply dissatisfying. “I won’t do the next album if we make it like this. No way. It was awful– just awful. Working in a fractured way, not having a singer there. I’d show up certain days and do guitar takes by myself, just me and the engineer.“
Despite of those inconvenients, Angles is inspired, in part, by bands like MGMT, Arctic Monkeys or Crystal Castles…
Great mix, but now we want to see them on tour, which one begins the 1rst April on the USA.

Oasis. Legendary band of 90’s who influenced a generation. 7 albums and a lot of hits like Wonderwall, Don’t look back in anger or Supersonic. And above all, two brothers : Noel and Liam.
After years of success and months of misunderstanding (or drugs and alcohol), Noel Gallagher announced his departure from the band after a backstage altercation with Liam before a festival appearance (Rock en Seine), in August 2009. As a result of Noel’s departure, Oasis officially split.
Liam Gallagher chose to create Beady Eye, a new band with his old friends of Oasis : Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock and Andy Bell.The band’s first album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, recorded in London at RAK studios in autumn 2010 was released on 28 February 2011.
Noel Gallagher chose to perform as a solo artist. He announced after his departure that he had lot of songs. Alan McGee (who managed Oasis) said some of his songs are as good as Wonderwall. Noel’s first concerts without Oasis was supported by The Courteeners and Plan B. He played a variety of Oasis album tracks and B-sides, mostly accoustic. It was almost the same set he played at the Royal Albert Hall in 2007. Home-sickness?
